Lily Lou

I got a puppy! After a lot of debates and many different ideas I named her Lily Lou. She is an 8 week old Great Dane. She is very tiny and skinny. It is hard to believe that Maddie and Emmie were this little at one point.
It all started a week ago when I finally got the internet. One of the first things I looked up was puppies in Phoenix. There were a few different breeder, but they were either too old, not the right color, or the one I liked was a boy. It was a debte on if i should tell mom I was going to get one or just surprise her when I came home last weekend. my better judgment told me I should tell her. So mom helped me out and made sure I was not going to get in over my head. It happened that Trevor and Caili were up here when this was all happening. They were leaving Wednesday so I decided to go down with them.
On our way home we stopped in Mesa to look at a litter. Well we all fell in love and I brought my puppy home! She was great in the car, you could tell that she was a little nervous. Caili played with her a little on the ride from Mesa to Glendale. She played with my Starbucks straw and Caili had the bright idea to have her play with her hair tie. Well she continues to like to play with hair ties thanks to Caili LOL.
We got home and had to introduce her to her sisters. I was not worried how Maddie would react, but I was not sure how Emmie would take to the addition. Overall they both did really well, but Emmie was a little more curious about what this tiny thing was. But Emmie and the puppy became friends. Emmie would follow and hover over the puppy constantly. Then we had to keep an eye that Emmie was not being too rough. I think sometime she would forget that she is like 120 pounds heavier that the puppy and want to roll on top of her. The 5 days that they played we only had one real accident with Emmie rolling completely on top of her.
She likes to sleep a lot... Which is OK with me! When she sleeps she dreams. Sometimes it kind of scares me, because her whole body starts shaking. The doctor says that is normal though. She is also a cuddle bug when she sleeps. If she falls asleep on the couch she will snuggle up in between you and the cushions. When she lays in bed with me she likes to be right up against my legs. Then if you try and move her while she is sleeping, she will grunt at you. It is really funny!
Monday Lily and I made our journey home to Morenci. On the way in we stopped for a Vet appointment to see if I could get Lily's ears cropped. The vet says she wants to get her a little more healthy before they take the chance of giving her and anesthetic. She said that she is really skinny and I need to get her a little chubbier before they want to do that. So I hope in 3 weeks she will be ready to have that done.
She seems to be adjusting the her new home very well. She is a little more nutty here! She is pouncing and going crazy a lot. She was on the couch with me last night, and she jumped onto the love sac, then crawled from the love sac onto the coffee table to get my cup of water. She is a smart girl!

Move to Morenci

Well this will be the first blog of hopefully many! We all know how well my student teaching blog went. Being that I will be spending a lot more time alone I hope to have more time to keep this up to date. My goal is to post once a week at least.
I was offered the position the end of May, but didn't want to Jinks anything. I had not taken the AEPA yet so I wanted to make sure the whole thing was all a go! Well luckily I passed the test my first time around.
Well I just moved to Morenci, Arizona for a fifth grade teaching position. The house that I am going to be renting is a three bedroom and one bath. It is perfect for me! I am going to be living in the house by myself. This will give me time to get all my school work done. It is a mining town to the west of Phoenix. It is about four hours away, near a town called Safford. It is about thirteen miles from the New Mexico border. In this town there is a Bashas, hardware store, single theatre, public pool, and a few small restaurants.

I made my move on July 9th. It was quiet the chore, packing and unpacking. I was lucky enough to have Trevor, Cali, Alan, Allison, and Chris. We packed and loaded everything in the Uhaul in one night. The next day Mom, Steven and I made the move to Morenci. I got my house, appliances, electric, and water all that day. Then Steven and I were able to unload the Uhaul by ourselves that night. Also we painted my room. We were wiped when the night was over! The wall unit was HEAVY!

On Friday I was able to get the appliances delivered and the gas turned on. Doug came up Friday morning. By the time Dougie got here we had a lot done. But we still needed his help on a lot of stuff. Doug was able to hang all the blinds and curtains. I guess the walls here are really hard, so it is hard to get nails and screws in the wall. We also painted the living room. I had Doug, Mom, and Steven to help me for 3 days, then I was on my own.
I got to stay on my own Sunday night. It was really weird being all alone. I like triple checked all the doors. So Monday the cable guy was coming to turn on the cable and internet. They told me someone would be here at 8am to 12pm... Well the guy did not show up until 5:30pm. I was not real happy, but then I had the internet!
Which leads me to the next blog... Stay tuned for the exciting news that came next!
